I'm afraid my pictures will be poor quality every time I post, because my computer won't let me upload the edited ones. Here is an official apology for all the pictures to come.

Its Monday night and I'm sitting in the internet cafe--also called "mid-ship." This is where all the life of the ship goes on during non working hours. It's been a long day. I was convicted by something I heard this morning in our committee meeting. The HR man was talking about how his ministry was to the people working on the boat, not directly to the people of Guinea. It was a gentle slap in the face, waking me up to the reality that my job here on the boat isn't directly to the people of Africa. My ministry is to the other workers on this boat--doctors, cooks, nurses, receptionists, guests, cabin mates, etc.. I won't expound anymore on that. Just a peek into what my mind has been thinking about the past few days.

Yesterday I went to my first African church service. :) It was very loud and there was lots of movement. Jeanna and I found ourselves in a line parading to the front of the church while dancing and singing and clapping. We went around in a circle for a while until the pastor asked us all to sit down again. The service only lasted for three hours. Which is short. My favorite thing about attending churches from different cultures is that it gives me another glimpse of God's character.

Okay for now. :) I've been writing three blessings each night when I go to bed (suggested to me by a dear friend), and I just wanted to say how blessed I am to have a huge support group from home.
