Every Saturday and Sunday there are trips that go to one of the neighboring islands, Room Island. This past weekend was the first time I was free to go! It was so wonderful. :) Very hot and sandy, but so nice to be outside and to be somewhere besides the ship. The waves were huge and extremely powerful--scary at times. There were a few different situations where someone would have to be rescued because the current was so strong.
I think I have a love/hate relationship with sand. I love squishing sand in between my toes and digging my feet into it while water is rushing over them...but I really don't enjoy when sand gets in my bathing suit, hair, and everywhere else. But listen to me! I will stop complaining. The tropical experience was lovely and I would go again in a heart beat. Mom, you'd be proud to know that I didn't let myself get sunburned. I definitely got sun, though. My cheeks are a little rosy at the moment. As the pictures below will show, however, my tanning abilities are limited. But I'm okay with that. Enjoy the photos! It's okay to be jealous. :)
The lovely boat that carried around thirty of us on our 45 minute journey from the ship to Room Island. |

Room Island :) It really was picturesque.
Dennis, one of the engineers. He's Russian, and sunburnt. |
The following pictures are a little random to you, but at the time we were trying to take pictures kissing one person's cheeks...yes, it's a bit silly, but we were laughing so hard and I can promise that not one of these photos is posed. Makes me laugh just to think about it.
Our view on re-entering the port...
Love you!!!! and the pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteGood job on not getting sunburnt Glennie. You are just all grown up and actually taking care of yourself (*tear). Also good job on having friends! I was a bit worried. Heehee jk I had no worries about that at all. All of your pictures are awesome and have I ever told you that you are absolutely gorgeous?!?! Cause, well, you are.
