This past Thursday the ship was put on lockdown due to a few planned political demonstrations. Because of the arrival of a certain person, however, the demonstrations have been postponed till next week. On Thursday evening during dinner the captain came on over the intercom and proceeded to announce that this "important person" was making a surprise visit to the ship. It is for times like these that the hospitality department really exists. My little team rushed away from dinner and quickly set out coffee, tea, cookies, and tables with table cloths. And so, roughly 45 minutes after the captain's announcement, Sepp Blatter, President of FIFA, came on board for a tour and refreshments. Whether he is loved or hated, it was still cool to have Sepp Blatter come to the ship. In the end, however, he never actually had any refreshments--just a tour, given by Donovan Palmer, not hospitality. If you don't know what FIFA is ask Philip. :)
That's been the excitement for the week.
One other thing. If you would like to send a letter I would LOVE to receive one. :) Here's my address:
